LUÍS FELIPE GALANTE

Senior Partner of the Law Office Carbone, Luís Felipe Galante has 40 years of practice in shipping area. In non-contentious area, he advises on a number of matters such as charter parties, bills of lading, shipbuilding contracts, offshore oil industry and regulatory aspects. In respect of litigation, he advises not only on court disputes (cargo claims, pollution cases, collisions, etc.) but also has been acting in arbitrations, either as arbitrator or lawyer to parties involved. He is the President of Brazilian Maritime Law Association (ABDM) since 2017. In the academic sphere, he is a Professor of Maritime Law and coordinator of the post-graduation course of maritime law by the University of State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Since the first editions of international publications such as Chambers Latin America, The Legal 500, and Lexology Index, formerly Who's Who Legal, he has always been classified as one of Brazil's "leading lawyers" in the shipping sector.
